Contreras is a set of islands within the national park that is about 1.45 hours away from Santa Catalina. So what's different? These sites are even more remote and meeting another diver, or even seeing another boat is very rare. Many of the sites are covered in beautiful fan coral that cannot be found anywhere else in the park. One can find massive schools of snapper, barracuda and bigeye jacks, huge long-tail stingrays, eagle rays, and in the right season (March to April), one can even be lucky to encounter schools of hammerheads. 
Due to the depth of the dives and the possibility of very strong currents, we only accept divers with more than 30 dives and recent experience on these trips. All dives are done with Nitrox, so if you do not hold a certification you can either get certified or we can offer a Discover Nitrox (short introduction and practical application). 

Logistics:
Check in is the day before your trip so you can analyze your tanks or receive instruction if you are completing your certification. On the day of the trip, we try to leave as early as possible, so we ask divers to meet at the dive shop at 7.00 am so we can head out early. 


Price for 2 dives with Nitrox: $210 

Third Nitrox dive: $45

Included: equipment (also dive computer), lunch, fruit and water

Not included: park entrance fees ($20 for foreigners, $5 for panameños and residents, must be paid in cash) 

Add Nitrox certification: $185 (includes theory, practical applications and certification)

BE AWARE, TO CONFIRM THIS TRIP, WE NEED AT LEAST 4 DIVERS. WHEN YOU RESERVE THIS TRIP, WE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CONTRERAS AND WILL OFFER IT TO OTHER DIVERS. IF WE DO NOT GET A GROUP OF 4, YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SIGNED UP FOR THE REGULAR COIBA TRIP. ALSO, IF WEATHER OR SEA CONDITIONS ARE UNFAVORABLE OR UNSAFE, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO RE-ROUT TO OTHER DIVE SITES. IN THIS CASE YOU WILL BE REFUNDED THE DIFFERENCE.
